Terms of use

Development software with evidence you can inspect.

These terms cover the PoolTrack website and development software made available by Goodfield Studio for evaluation, testing or a private field trial.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using PoolTrack, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you are using PoolTrack for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation. If we make a material change, we will ask you to accept the updated terms before you continue (see section 15).

2. Development status

PoolTrack is development software. Features, interfaces, model files, supported platforms and analysis methods may change. Access may be limited to authorised testers and may be modified, suspended or withdrawn while the product is being developed. If you have a paid PoolTrack Pro subscription, section 6 sets out what happens if we end the paid service.

3. Your account

To use the hosted PoolTrack service you sign in with an email address, using a one-time code that Cloudflare Access emails to you. Each account is for one person. Do not share your sign-in or let someone else use your account; if several people need access, each should have their own account.

Use an email address that you control and keep that mailbox private, because anyone who can receive the code can sign in as you. You are responsible for everything done under your account, including what is recorded and uploaded with it. Tell us promptly at the address in section 17 if you think someone else has gained access to your account.

4. Acceptable use

You may use PoolTrack to record or analyse equipment that you are authorised to test and to prepare internal evidence for legitimate testing, engineering and manufacturing purposes. You must comply with workplace requirements, pool-safety rules, privacy obligations and any confidentiality or intellectual-property restrictions that apply to the footage.

Film only pools, equipment and sites that you are authorised to film. PoolTrack is for recording pool cleaners, not people: point the camera at the pool and the cleaner, keep people out of the frame where you can, and do not upload footage whose purpose is to identify, follow or watch a person.

You must not access or try to access another person’s account or data, interfere with or probe the service or its security, introduce malicious material, bypass sign-in, limits or other controls, make misleading claims about test results, or use scripts or other automated means to create accounts or to upload or request analyses in bulk. The PoolTrack app and dashboard are the supported ways to use the service.

5. Fair use and shared capacity

PoolTrack runs on a small shared server, so each account has limits that stop one account using the capacity others rely on. At the date above these are 25 tests, 5 GiB of stored recordings and reports, and 10 analyses a day for each account, together with limits on how much work can run at once, on daily replays, pool photos and PDF reports, and on how many new accounts can be created in an hour. The app and dashboard tell you when you reach a limit. We may change the limits as the service develops.

If an account breaks section 4 or abuses shared capacity, Goodfield Studio may suspend it, or remove its stored tests and recordings to free capacity. Where practical we will tell you first and give you the chance to download your reports.

6. PoolTrack Pro subscription

Free start. Every new account includes 7 days of PoolTrack Pro with no payment details. The 7 days start when you finish setting up your account (your name and your acceptance of these terms). Each person and email address gets this once: we keep a one-way hash of your email address and sign-in identity after an account is deleted, so deleting your account and signing up again does not start another 7 days.

What you can do without Pro. If you do not have Pro (for example, after the 7 days), you can still view your existing tests, reports and replays, download your PDF reports and replay videos, delete your tests, and delete your account. Creating tests, uploading recordings and starting analyses need Pro.

The subscription. PoolTrack Pro is an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly, that you buy in the PoolTrack iPhone app through Apple In-App Purchase. The app shows the title, length and price of each option before you buy. You cannot buy Pro on the PoolTrack website. Subscribing during the first 7 days starts your paid subscription straight away and does not add to the 7 days.

Payment, renewal and cancellation. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of that period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings (apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions). Apple handles payment, cancellation and refunds under its own terms; ask Apple for a refund at support.apple.com/118223. Goodfield Studio does not receive your payment details. If Apple changes the price, Apple's notice and consent rules apply.

App and web. One subscription unlocks PoolTrack Pro in the app and on the PoolTrack web dashboard for the same account. An Apple subscription is linked to one PoolTrack account at a time: restoring purchases while signed in to a different PoolTrack account moves the subscription to that account.

Deleting your account. Deleting your PoolTrack account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple Account settings, otherwise Apple keeps billing you.

Fair use and complimentary access. The limits in section 5 also apply to Pro accounts. Goodfield Studio may give complimentary access to an account, for example for staff or reviewers, and may end it.

If we end the paid service. If Goodfield Studio ends the paid PoolTrack service while you have paid time remaining, we will tell you first and give you a way to get a refund for the unused part, through Apple or directly.

Your rights. Nothing in these terms limits a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law, including for a paid subscription.

7. Your test material and intellectual property

You retain ownership of your footage, photographs, notes, product designs, specifications, model details, test results and other material. You confirm that you have the rights and permission required to capture and process that material. Goodfield Studio does not claim ownership of it.

You grant Goodfield Studio only the limited permission needed to perform the support, evaluation or field trial you request. That permission does not allow public release, advertising use, sale, use for another customer, or training of a shared or public model.

8. Automated analysis

Detections, tracks, mapped routes, coverage figures, movement candidates and generated reports (including replay videos and PDF reports) are automated aids. They may contain misses, false detections, alignment errors or incomplete observations caused by glare, water distortion, depth, occlusion, camera movement, pool shape or model limitations.

PoolTrack is not a measuring instrument. Coverage, distance, timing and route figures are estimates drawn from video and a schematic pool outline, not calibrated measurements. PoolTrack does not certify coverage, performance, safety, compliance, product quality or the existence of a fault. A qualified person must review original footage and supporting evidence before relying on an output or making an engineering, safety, warranty or commercial decision.

9. Third-party services

Optional features may use services supplied by third parties, including cloud hosting and machine-learning providers. The hosted service also relies on Cloudflare (sign-in, network protection and delivery) and Microsoft Azure (servers). Subscriptions are sold by Apple through In-App Purchase and managed for us by RevenueCat, Inc. Their terms, availability and privacy practices apply to their services. Goodfield Studio is not responsible for third-party outages or changes outside its control.

10. Intellectual property

PoolTrack, its source code, models, brand, interface and documentation are owned by Goodfield Studio or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership. Rights to use non-public builds, source code or model files are limited to the permission separately provided for the relevant trial or engagement.

11. Confidentiality

Goodfield Studio will treat non-public technical, commercial, product and test information supplied through a private PoolTrack engagement as confidential. It will use that information only for the agreed purpose and will not publish it, disclose it to another customer, place it in a public dataset or repository, use it in marketing, or use it to train a shared or public model without prior written authorisation.

Access will be limited to people and approved service providers who need the information for the agreed work and who are subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations. Disclosure may occur where required by law. A separate confidentiality or non-disclosure agreement takes priority if it provides stronger or more specific protection.

12. Deleting your data

You can delete any test at any time, and you can delete your whole account from the dashboard (Account, then Delete my account) or from the app’s account settings. Deleting an account removes your tests, recordings, saved pools, pool photos, reports, replay videos and PDF reports, your sign-in link and the account record. It cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not cancel a PoolTrack Pro subscription, which is billed by Apple (see section 6).

Original recordings are also deleted automatically once their purpose is served: 24 hours after a report is produced, seven days after upload if no analysis was run, and partial uploads after 72 hours without progress. The Privacy Policy sets out the other retention periods, the minimal security log that is kept after deletion, and how long deleted material can remain in server backups.

13. Availability and warranty

PoolTrack is provided “as is” and “as available” during development. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goodfield Studio does not promise uninterrupted access, error-free analysis, compatibility with every phone, video, pool or cleaner, or fitness for a particular engineering purpose. This section does not limit section 6 or any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

14. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Goodfield Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, PoolTrack or from reliance on an automated result. You remain responsible for backups, safe testing practices and independent review.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.

15. Suspension, termination and changes

Goodfield Studio may suspend or end an account, or your access to PoolTrack, if you break these terms, abuse shared capacity, put the security of the service or other accounts at risk, or when a pilot or the development service ends. If we end the paid service while you have a PoolTrack Pro subscription, section 6 applies. Where practical we will tell you first and give you the chance to download your reports. You may stop using PoolTrack and delete your account at any time. Access to a private pilot may also end under the applicable trial or project arrangements.

We may update PoolTrack and these terms as the product develops. The revision date above will be updated, and when a change is material you will be asked to accept the updated terms before you continue. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and Australia. Courts with jurisdiction in South Australia may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory rights that apply elsewhere.
